Giving your chopping block a good clean every month with salt and lemon is a great way to help maintain its appearance and remove stubborn stains.
Sprinkle the salt liberally over the block, then slice a lemon in half and use it to rub the salt into the block. Let the salt and lemon solution sit for approximately five minutes. Finally, clean off the block with a sponge, rinse, and dry.
The salt acts as an abrasive to lift stains and the lemon juice leaves everything smelling great.
After rinsing the soap (and salt and lemon juice) off of your block, take a dry dishtowel and give it a thorough dry. If water gets trapped in the grain, it can warp the wood. Finally stand your chopping block up to dry naturally, making sure air hits as much of the surface as possible.
Once a month or so, hydrate your thirsty wooden block with mineral oil. Use a soft, clean cloth to spread a thin, even coat of mineral oil over the wood. Let the oil soak in for several hours for maximum benefit then wipe off any excess.

Have used many cheap boards over the years but chopping snd cutting on this high quality board makes a huge improvement and it doubles as a serving board for cooked and cold meats, all round great product
